Dear Reader;
Everything we do in our
everyday lives connects us with the web of life on Earth. Therefore, the
physical, mental and social health
of our families and of our environment is a reflection of the choices we make.
For the last thirty-five years, my mission has been to help people understand the range of choices available and to
encourage them to challenge the assumptions inherent in those choices so that
they make the right ones for themselves, their families and the Earth.
That's why my life and my work
encompasses the seemingly disparate topics of green living,
unschooling/life learning, and home-based business. Serious change is
unavoidable. And we need to see the change through a wholistic lens. We need to
rethink how we live in our families and our communities, and on our planet. And
that means embracing smaller-scale, local ways of doing things, and becoming
more self-reliant in the way we think.
I am pleased to "meet" you and would be happy to engage
with you on these topics via Twitter and/or Facebook.
In my life and my work, I value honesty, integrity, curiosity,
communication, mindfulness, civility, balance, laughter, conciseness, simplicity,
and friendship. I
believe that every experience and encounter provides us with an opportunity to
learn and grow. Or, as Carl Jung wrote, "Everything that irritates us about
others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."
I hope
you will enjoy and be inspired, or at least informed, by what you read on this
website, and in the books I write and the magazines I edit. If you are moved to support
my work, please consider purchasing a magazine subscription or a book...for
yourself or as a gift. Clicking on the graphics to the left will take you
directly to the relevant web page. Thank you in the name of change!
